Aya-san is a former NIRA researcher. She has a tremendous influence on me and inspires me in many ways. Julia is a very sweet and smart German girl who bridges security and human rights studies.

Saori-san and Alex

She works in Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA). She is also a Sophian, and we had a lot of fun together. Alex is also an ISPer but graduated one year earlier. Alex sometimes appears in CNN as an analyst of former Soviet countries.

Francesco (left) and Laurie (right)

Francesco is an anti-nationalist Italian, who never forgets to entertain people. He is professional in Conflict Resolution studies. Laurie and I were working under Dr. Betts together. She is a very nice person to work with.

Iori san was selected as JPO (Junior Professional Officer) at hte UN by MoFA. He received an award for his paper in the graduation ceremony.

Axel and Toshiko-san.

Good friends of both Michi's and mine. Toshiko san also graduated from Sophia (Inoguchi seminar) and SIPA. Axel is a Ph.D student in Political Science Dept. of Colubmia.

Nami-san and Jon at Nami's BD party

Nami-san is my former roommate and Jon is a close friend of hers. He speaks many languages, and is a rare Norwegian speaking buddy of Michi's.

Nami-san, me and Seung-Yeon at Gala

Seung-Yeon is a smart and adorable Korean girl, who speaks fluent Japanese. We often went to see a movie and other shows. She is working in Korea Development Institute after she graduated from SIPA.

Nami, Chingyu, and me at Gala

Chingyu is a little bit of a strange Taiwanese girl. She is for sure one of the most interesting people I met in SIPA.

Professor Bernstein and students in his Chinese Politics seminar. This class was really fun thanks to both the wonderful professor and the smart and fun fellow students.

Siew-gay and Nami-san

I like this picture (Look at his face!).

I met Siew-gay at Dr. Bernstein's class. He is a government official of Singapore.

John

He is a Taiwanese government official. He and I learned how to make websites together from Michi.

Martin and Ellen

I met them at Columbia's American Language Program (ALP) which I attended before SIPA started. Martin became a doctor in Taiwan, and Ellen is working in Hong Kong.

Steven and Joe

Both of them speak Japanese. They are activists in Columbia. The little white ribbon on Joe's chest is for Men Against Violence Against Women.
